Out of interest was there such a focus on on chain analysis during the 2017 bull and following bear market. I was on the scene for 2017 and just held through but don't remember coming across any on chain analysis or even a focus on the four year cycle. Possibly I just completely missed it. Just thinking that if all the savvy investors/traders are looking at on chain analysis does this sort of 'ruin' it? Any thoughts on this would be interesting.
You would know bettet than I would! I wasn't around back then. Even now a lot of people dismiss it, I didn't even look at it until the beginning of 2020.
To your point, savvy investors do use this data. So do we, except we buy low and HODL. Others may sell or take profits, which is fine. I am trying to accumulate crypto not cash so I don't take profits and won't sell unless the market forces me to.
Some people who subscribe to this newsletter used my analysis to take profits and in some cases, sell out of the market totally earlier this year. I don't this that ruins anything. It's probably very healthy -- when smart money sells when the metrics get hot, that cools things off and keeps everything from overheating. And on the flip side, when smart money buys the bottoms rather than wait for everything to go lower, that creates a floor for prices.
This market has no bottom until $0 and no top until infinity. I want more smart money using data to justify buying the bottoms and selling the tops - keeps us further away from zero, on the path to infinity.
